Logistics Coordinator Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods across our domestic cotton footprint. This position is responsible for coordinating road transport logistics, guaranteeing contractual obligations are met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contractual Obligations: Plan and execute logistics to meet contractual commitments for both purchase and sales contracts.
* Customer Delivery: Process customer deliveries according to their expectations, requirements, and job-type in a cost-effective and timely manner.
* Reporting: Provide detailed reporting on logistics-related activities, including freight costings, freight sensitivity, executed tonnages, and storage capacities.
* Shed Management: Collaborate with cotton gin managers and weighbridge staff to effectively manage shed capacities.
* Road Freight Contractors: Ensure all road freight contractors adhere to our SHE and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) policies and procedures.
* Stakeholder Relationships: Foster and maintain positive relationships with carriers and third-party supply chain stakeholders.
* Data Entry: Accurately enter data across multiple inventory and contract management systems.
Requirements:
* Logistics Experience: 3-5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain coordination/management with a proven ability to organize road transport logistics.
* Agricultural Knowledge: A good understanding of post-farm-gate agricultural enterprises.
* Cotton and Grain Logistics: Experience with cotton and/or grain logistics and a basic understanding of commodity trading is highly regarded.
* Financial Acumen: A sound understanding of AP/AR principles.
* Organizational Skills: Excellent time management skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Technology Proficiency: Experience with the AgTech/Grainsmart commodity management platform is advantageous.
