Pakaanu Aboriginal Corporation (PAC) represents the interests of its members and Aboriginal community residents of Laverton in the Northern Goldfields of Western Australia. PAC plays a central role in community development, governance, service delivery and advocacy, working closely with community members, partner organisations and government stakeholders.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide strategic, operational and cultural leadership to the Corporation.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for implementing the organisation's strategic plan, strengthening governance and organisational systems, overseeing financial and human resource management, and ensuring PAC meets its regulatory and reporting obligations as a registered ORIC corporation.
The CEO will work collaboratively across community, government and industry settings, navigating complex environments with cultural sensitivity, integrity and strong leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the implementation and delivery of PAC's strategic plan and organisational objectives
* Ensure strong governance, compliance and reporting in line with ORIC and legislative requirements
* Oversee financial management, budgeting, acquittals and contractual compliance
* Manage PAC's human resources, including staff leadership, development and performance
* Build and maintain effective relationships with members, Elders, community, funding bodies and stakeholders
* Develop and maintain organisational policies, systems and risk management frameworks
* Provide regular financial and operational reports to the Board of Directors
* Represent PAC in high-level meetings, negotiations and community forums
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be assessed against the following criteria:
* Demonstrated executive-level leadership experience, ideally within community, not-for-profit or government-funded organisations
* Proven experience working respectfully with Aboriginal communities and building trusted relationships
* Strong governance capability, including experience working with Boards of Directors
* Demonstrated financial management experience, including budgets, funding acquittals and compliance
* Ability to operate effectively in complex, remote or regional environments
* Experience working within an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation
* Knowledge of ORIC governance and compliance requirements
* Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in regional or remote settings
Salary & Conditions
This is a full-time position based in Laverton, Western Australia, covered by the Aboriginal Communities and Organisations Western Australian Interim Award, classified at Level 10 – Executive (Band B).
A competitive salary package of $130,000 – $140,000 per annum plus superannuation will be negotiated based on skills and experience and is paid above the minimum Award rate.
Conditions include:
* 38 ordinary hours per week, with reasonable additional hours as required
* Superannuation in accordance with legislative requirements
* District and airfare allowances in accordance with the Award
* Four (4) weeks annual leave and applicable Award leave entitlements, including cultural and ceremonial leave
* WA State public holidays
* Long service leave in accordance with legislation
* Time off in lieu (TOIL) arrangements by agreement, consistent with the Award
* The position is subject to a probationary period in accordance with the Award.
