Your new role: As a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist in General Medicine, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care while providing clinical leadership, education and service improvement through: * Providing specialist inpatient, outpatient, consultation and after-hours on-call services in General Medicine * Covering inpatient and outpatient services to support planned and unplanned leave of General Physicians * Leading and supervising junior medical staff, including Registrars, Principal House Officers and Resident Medical Officers * Delivering safe, effective and evidence-based clinical care across the patient journey * Promoting multidisciplinary and interprofessional models of care * Supporting education and training through tutorials, seminars, supervision and participation in Grand Rounds * Contributing to research, quality improvement and clinical governance activities * Supporting elective and emergency access targets and service efficiency initiatives About you: You are a skilled and motivated General Physician who is committed to excellence in patient care, leadership and continuous improvement. You will bring: * Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (or equivalent) and eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA * Demonstrated expertise in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of general medical (and geriatric) conditions * Strong clinical leadership and the ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior medical staff * Excellent communication skills with a patient-centred, respectful and collaborative approach * A commitment to education, teaching and supporting high-quality training experiences * Engagement in research, audit or service improvement activities relevant to General Medicine * An inclusive, ethical and values-driven approach to care and teamwork Check out our quick tips and application essentials!
