About us:
Gladstone Hospital provides a range of services to Gladstone and the Banana region. A new emergency department is being built which will double the department's current capacity. Our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy will see Gladstone Hospital developed as a centre for emergency care, medical inpatient and day surgery excellence. This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Gladstone and Banana rural communities.
About the role:
The Student in Nursing or Midwifery is a member of the healthcare delivery team and:
1. is an undergraduate student of nursing or midwifery; and
2. is undertaking or has completed, on a full-time basis, the second semester of the second year of a pre-registration university program or is undertaking the fourth semester of a second year post graduate pre-registration university program in a nursing or midwifery qualification approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
The Enrolled Nurse:
3. Practises under the direct or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife, assisting with the care of recipients of healthcare services, as delegated by the Registered Nurse/Midwife.
4. Seeks assistance and support in decision making from a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife.
The Registered Nurse:
5. Practises independently and interdependently.
6. Assumes accountability and responsibility for own actions and delegation of care to Enrolled Nurses (EN's), Assistants in Nursing (AIN's) and healthcare workers.
7. Demonstrates evidence of increasing autonomy and exercises greater levels of professional judgement in the clinical environment as the employee moves from a beginning to an experienced practitioner.
About you:
To be successful in this role you must have current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). As a Student in Nursing/Midwifery to applicant is required to be undertaking or has completed on a full-time basis, the second semester of the second year of a pre-registration university program or is undertaking the fourth semester of a second-year post graduate pre-registration university program in a nursing or midwifery qualification approved by the NMBA.
