AusRAMD Engineering is seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive new and existing business opportunities. This role suits someone who is confident operating in a technical environment, but whose strength lies in selling, influencing, and building long‐term client relationships.
Applicants with a project management or mechanical engineering background seeking to transition into a commercially driven role will be highly regarded.
This position is focused on leveraging sales performance and business growth predominantly from a well-established client base and identifying potential new clients through industry contacts and networks.
About the Role
This is a hands‐on sales role with genuine autonomy. You will be responsible for developing relationships, managing opportunities, and converting enquiries into profitable outcomes. Technical knowledge will support your success, but you'll be backed by engineering and production teams for detailed inputs where required. You'll work across a diverse customer base, engaging decision‐makers, understanding commercial drivers, and positioning tailored engineering solutions that deliver value.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and manage the full sales lifecycle, from initial enquiry and relationship development through to quotation, negotiation, and conversion
* Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across existing and prospective customers
* Maintain and grow key customer relationships, acting as a trusted commercial point of contact
* Coordinate pricing, quotations, and proposals with internal engineering and production teams
* Represent the business in client meetings, site visits, and industry engagements
* Maintain accurate sales records and contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes and systems
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development within an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment
* Engineering background (mechanical preferred) or strong technical exposure enabling confident customer conversations
* Exposure to metal fabrication, machining, or manufacturing environments (depth can vary)
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and close deals
* Confident communicator who can engage stakeholders at multiple levels
* Organised, self‐driven, and comfortable managing competing priorities
* Willingness to travel interstate as required
