About Stride:

We're leaders in mental health service delivery, specialising in working with adults and young people, and in early childhood intervention.

Our name is purposeful – it shows awareness of the important role we play in the recovery journey.

About Our Service:

The Medicare Mental Health Services are free and you don't need an appointment, referral or Medicare card to visit a Medicare Mental Health Centre. We've partnered with the Australian and Tasmanian Governments to provide a streamlined approach to better mental health and social wellbeing across the country.

We tailor our service to meet the needs of our community in Tasmania, providing a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support. The Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress, allowing them to:

* Find alternatives to visiting the Emergency Department
* Get support from trained mental health professionals within their community

What We Offer:

We're based in Devonport, TAS, and have a 0.5FTE part-time, permanent opportunity available. You'll also get:

* Salary Packaging options (up to $15,899 tax-free)
* Meals and entertainment allowance of up to $2,650
* Leave loading at 17.5%
* Stride Rewards – access to discounts from 100s of retailers
* One paid wellbeing leave day per year
* Purchase up to 5 additional leave days in a 12-month period
* Paid parental leave support
* A supportive team environment
* Excellent training, clinical supervision and career development

Role Overview:

You'll deliver quality psychosocial assessment, low-intensity brief intervention treatment and evaluation using the Brief Intervention Model of care. This involves up to 6 sessions for mild-moderate, short-term, goal-oriented focused psychological therapy and generalist counselling.

Responsibilities:

You'll work as part of our clinical team to provide comprehensive mental health assessment, case coordination, intervention or group work as required. Specific responsibilities include:

* Delivering Brief Interventions
* Completing Intake Assessments as needed

Requirements:

To be successful, you'll need one of the following qualifications: Social Worker with AASW registration/eligibility, Counsellor with Level 2 PACFA or ACA registration, General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse.

We're looking for someone who has:

* A highly competent level of knowledge and skill to undertake routine clinical practice
* The ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively
* A demonstrated ability to contribute to professional development and apply evidence-based practice
* A comprehensive understanding of Brief Intervention Models of Care

Safety and Inclusion:

We're committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable people. All applicants must undergo screening processes prior to appointment. We're an inclusive workplace that welcomes applications from diverse backgrounds, including those with a lived experience of mental health recovery, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities.
