About Our Service:
The Medicare Mental Health Services are free and you don't need an appointment, referral or Medicare card to visit a Medicare Mental Health Centre. We've partnered with the Australian and Tasmanian Governments to provide a streamlined approach to better mental health and social wellbeing across the country.
We tailor our service to meet the needs of our community in Tasmania, providing a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support. The Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress, allowing them to:
* Find alternatives to visiting the Emergency Department
* Get support from trained mental health professionals within their community

Role Overview:
You'll deliver quality psychosocial assessment, low-intensity brief intervention treatment and evaluation using the Brief Intervention Model of care. This involves up to 6 sessions for mild-moderate, short-term, goal-oriented focused psychological therapy and generalist counselling.
Responsibilities:
You'll work as part of our clinical team to provide comprehensive mental health assessment, case coordination, intervention or group work as required. Specific responsibilities include:
* Delivering Brief Interventions
* Completing Intake Assessments as needed
Requirements:
To be successful, you'll need one of the following qualifications: Social Worker with AASW registration/eligibility, Counsellor with Level 2 PACFA or ACA registration, General or Provisional AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse.
We're looking for someone who has:
* A highly competent level of knowledge and skill to undertake routine clinical practice
* The ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively
* A demonstrated ability to contribute to professional development and apply evidence-based practice
* A comprehensive understanding of Brief Intervention Models of Care
