Job Description Our Commis Chefs provide service between our a la carte and buffet environments. All our roles are focused on exciting our guests with flair and enthusiasm and demonstrating a genuine passion for customer service and the kitchen. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you will form a key part of a team who are responsible for providing high quality product to our lounge passengers. What do I need? Our Commis Chefs are required to have the ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster, have a minimum Cert IV cookery trade qualification, and the ability to pass a Federal Police Clearance to enable your work in the Airport. You must also have full Australian working rights to be considered for this role. Our successful new team member will have experience in hospitality. Ideally you will have experience in pans and larder operations, experience working in high pressure environments, and previous experience in a luxury 5-star environment is highly regarded, but not necessary. More importantly, you will have a genuine love of making others feel welcome, enjoy working as part of a team and wanting to come to work to have fun. Key responsibilities for the positions includes, assisting in the preparation of ingredients, which includes chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring food products. Executing cooking techniques and methods under the guidance of senior chefs. This can include grilling, frying, baking, sautéing, and more. Follow established recipes and instructions for the preparation and presentation of dishes. Assist in the assembly and plating of dishes, ensuring they meet the established standards for portion size and presentation. Follow kitchen safety rules and guidelines, including the safe use of kitchen equipment and handling of hot items.
