About the Position
The Complex Care Team provides services and supports to both OOHC / Voluntary OOHC and NDIS participants allowing a dual role across Youth and Disability Support. The Complex Disability Support Worker is responsible for developing, assisting and supporting clients in various locations such as houses, schools, hospitals, community centres and emergency accommodation on a daily basis.
This position works within Kirinari's strength‐based, non‐punitive, therapeutic model of care to provide safety to our clients while identifying and supporting growth needs. You will be working with a variety of different clients of all age groups who will have complex trauma and behavioural support needs.
This position is open to applicants who are new to the industry or have experience across a range of support services including challenging behaviours and/or high physical needs.
About You
* Qualification in Community Services (Cert IV) is highly regarded
* Strong interest in youth work, mental health and the disability industry
* Understanding of strength‐based trauma‐informed practice framework
* Understanding of the NSW Child Safe Standards
* Previous experience in residential therapeutic care and complex trauma is highly regarded
* Ability and willingness to work shift work, regular sleepovers/active nights, weekends and public/school holidays with significant availability
* Ability to obtain the NDIS Workers Screen Check prior to commencement
* Ability to obtain a paid NSW Working with Children Check prior to commencement
* Complete a National Criminal History Check (paid by Kirinari)
* Ability to use computers and learn a variety of software/programs
* Smart Phone
* Current Driver's Licence
