About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled HV Commissioning Manager to lead and coordinate high‑voltage commissioning activities across Australia. This is a hands‑on leadership role, combining technical expertise with team development and project coordination. You will work closely with our engineering team to develop detailed testing plans, oversee commissioning works nationwide, and mentor HV technicians to ensure technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee commissioning and functional testing of HV equipment (switchgear, transformers, protection relays, etc.).
- Coordinate commissioning schedules and resources across multiple sites.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and review testing plans and procedures.
- Lead and mentor HV technicians, driving technical competency and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with AS/NZS standards, WHS regulations, and client specifications.
- Prepare and review detailed commissioning reports and documentation.
Manage KPIs related to:
- Safety performance
- Growth and capability of the HV commissioning team
Qualifications & Skills
- Current Electrical License and valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 5–8 years experience in HV commissioning, with leadership responsibilities.
- Experience with renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage).
- Strong knowledge of protection systems, SCADA, and HV apparatus.
- Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate complex commissioning projects.
- Familiarity with Australian electrical standards and WHS requirements.
- Ability to travel extensively and work on remote sites.
- Competency in relay testing software (e.g., Omicron)
- Diploma or Degree in electrical engineering Electrical Engineering
- HV switching certification.
- Previous experience in developing training programs for technical staff.
