About the Position:
As a Baker Excavations Machinery Operator & General Labourer, you will report to the Civil Site Supervisor, working under the Project Manager to ensure the successful delivery of projects, typically ranging in value from $100K to $2M. This role involves coordinating on-site with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
You will provide on-site support throughout the project from initial site establishment to execution and close-out, all work must align with relevant codes, regulations, contractual obligations, designs, and authority requirements. You may require some guidance or direction, however you are expected to show initiative, discretion, and sound judgment in carrying out your assigned duties.
Skills and Experience:
o Labouring; including incidental/peripheral tasks to labouring
o Loading and/or unloading materials, tools and equipment and placing at designated areas
o Aid operators, carpenters, and other trades as required
o Minimise construction site hazards by clearing obstacles and maintaining cleanliness
o Assemble/dismantle temporary structures, e.g., scaffolding or hoarding
o Remove, fill, or compact material, e.g., quarry material, earth, drainage material, etc
o Operate and maintain equipment (such as mobile plant, trucks, demolition equipment, etc.), subject to any competency requirements and the needs of the project/organisation
o Daily, accurate record keeping of work through project management software
