Position Description:
This role will work within the SEA2273 Sub-Program of the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), ICT Delivery Division, Chief Information Officer Group, Department of Defence.
The Senior Test Analyst will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to:
- Act as a senior test and evaluation officer in a mid-sized test team. Providing oversight and direction to junior testers, and providing test reporting to management.
- Conduct Verification and Validation (V&V;) of in-scope capabilities in accordance with standard Defence Test and Evaluation (T&E;) policy.
- Work closely with the V&V; Manager in support of planning and conducting of V&V; activities in different phases of the project such as DT&E; and AT&E.;
- Creation of test cases and detailed test procedures to verify and validate systems that support the capability.
- Plan and execute tests for mission apps to support Preview T&E;, Developmental T&E; and Acceptance T&E;
- Conduct thorough reviews of test procedures and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement necessary process enhancements to optimise testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify and promptly raise any risks or issues related to testing and evaluation, and effectively manage them throughout the testing process to minimise potential impact and ensure successful outcomes.
- Conduct final testing of applications to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications, verifying that systems are fit for their intended purpose.
- Assist in identifying risks and issues related to V&V;, assist with mitigation activities and escalate as required.
- Review, assign, monitor, follow up and manage Defects.
- Assist V&V; Manager in report and coordination tasks when required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Tester predominantly testing infrastructure core services.
- Demonstrated experience working with applications development, testing, integration and troubleshooting complex Defence projects or similar.
- Working knowledge of Microfocus Octane, Application Lifecycle Manager (ALM), or similar test management tools for developing test procedures and defects management.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle, software development methodologies, test and evaluation in development operations, ICT governance frameworks and maintenance and operations environments.
- Solid communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with ability to present and engage with both internal and external stakeholders and Projects.
- Experienced in execution of test procedures for large systems and system- of-systems with complex integrations.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Experience working within the Defence environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting, testing and validating mission apps or MOTS application.
- Experience with the implementation, assessment and testing of capabilities defined within a Software Defined Data center model.
- Experience working and testing in Agile and/or DevSecOps delivery frameworks.
