Industrial Relations/Human Resources Officer

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia is the peak industry representative body for Community Pharmacies in Australia.
We currently seekan Industrial Relations/Human Resources Officer to join our team on a 12-month maximum term contract, to cover a period of maternity leave.
You will work directly with our members providing both a telephone and email consultancy service and representation at the industrial commission both in a State and Federal setting when required.This position will allow you to utilise your previous experience in an IR/ER environment to ensure that a professional service is provided to all our members on a required basis.
Although the role is primarily focused on IR/ER you must demonstrate the flexibility to work across generalist HR issues where required.
This position is responsible for:
* Maintaining a strong relationship with our members in the provision of advice, particularly relating to our telephone consultancy service.
* Providing expert, professional advice often at short notice.
* Provide communication to our members on matters through the provision of Members Alerts.
* Interpreting and advising on industrial instruments and relevant legislation in both the WA state and national systems.
* Representing our members on a range of industrial issues of a highly complex nature.
* Creation of documents including handbooks, templates, policies and procedures.
* Building relationships with members and establishing yourself as their subject matter expert.
To be considered for this role youmust address the following criteria:
* Understanding of IR legislation, including an ability to interpret and apply relevant industrial instruments, legislation, HR policies and procedures.
* Experience in representing employers both in the State and Federal industrial relations commission (highly desirable).
* Be able to demonstrate an understanding of and current industrial and employee relations legislation/issues.
* Ability to handle a number of complex tasks including the provision of a telephone and email advisory service.
* Minimum five (5) years' work experience.
* Tertiary qualification in IR/ER/HR. A legal qualification would be an advantage.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Located in West Perth, the hours of work will be Monday – Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, commencing in mid-January 2026.
