Chandler Macleod is currently recruiting for an experienced Planning & Policy Officer (Resource Recovery) to join a leading Federal Government agency. This is an immediate start with a contract term of 6 months.
**In this position you will be expected to**:
- Plan, deliver and evaluate appropriate waste and resource recovery programs and planning processes, providing clear and concise reports and briefings as required.
- In consultation with relevant stakeholders, assist with the set-up of current buildings with appropriate waste and recycling infrastructure including bins.
- Assist with the review, development and implementation of the City's waste policies, guidelines and other relevant documents in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Follow procedures, process flows and provide regular communication and consultation with key stakeholders to ensure tasks are delivered efficiently and on time.
**About You**:
To succeed in this role, you will be a team player, highly organised and motivated with a demonstrated ability to work flexibly and to tight deadlines. Further to this, to be considered for the role you will also need:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or extensive demonstrated relevant experience and knowledge in waste and resource recovery issues.
- Sound project management skills and demonstrated experience in delivering, implementing and evaluating projects within time and budget that achieved measureable results
- Knowledge of waste management and resource recovery issues in the built workplace and/or experience in planning, development, architecture, construction and/or waste industries.
- Experience in engaging and partnering with residents, businesses, industry and other stakeholders on projects and providing appropriate support and technical advice.
- Ability to liaise, negotiate and effectively resolve conflicts and reconcile competing interests and excellent customer service skills and strength of character to deal effectively with difficult customers.
- Hold a current NSW Drivers License
