Account Director - Defence & National Security
Location: Australia (Canberra / Sydney / Melbourne / Brisbane – flexible)
Role Overview
The Strategic Account Director – Defence Industry leads Schneider Electric's engagement with Defence Prime Contractors and EPCs across Australia.
This role is responsible for shaping and securing complex, long‐term opportunities by leading account strategy, pursuits, and internal alignment. It focuses on major Defence programs and partner ecosystems.
What You Will Do
* Lead executive relationships with Defence Prime Contractors and EPCs supporting ADF, CASG, and CIOG programs
* Own and execute multi‐year account strategies aligned to Defence priorities and program pipelines
* Lead or sponsor pursuit strategies, including win planning, governance, and positioning
* Support major bids with strategic insight, stakeholder engagement, and clear value propositions
* Coordinate Business Units and specialist teams to deliver integrated solutions across energy management, automation, digital infrastructure and services
* Support commercial strategies aligned to Defence delivery models
* Ensure compliance with Defence security, probity, and governance requirements
What Will Make You Successful
* Experience within the Australian Defence industry, working with Primes and/or EPCs
* Proven track record in strategic account management, capture, or complex sales
* Strong understanding of Defence procurement and delivery models
* Degree‐qualified in Engineering, Business, Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent senior‐level industry experience
* Experience across Defence infrastructure, energy, digital, ICT, or sustainment programs
