Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. This is a full-time position based out of our Canberra branch, where you will be responsible for completing preventative maintenance and basic repair activities on generators and components at customer sites.
The ideal location for this role is North Canberra/Goulburn or somewhere halfway between Sydney and Canberra.
As a Field Service Technician, you will make a significant impact by applying specialized tools and following documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
You will also escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor, perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field, and complete required documentation such as service worksheets, timesheets, and warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
In addition, you will complete training in line with skill and business requirements, maintain service vehicles and tools for cleanliness and proper operation, and train electrical apprentices in and out of the branch.
You will also coordinate jobs and responsibilities within the branch and delegate workload, ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, and complete in-workshop repairs as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* An apprentice-trained Power Generation/Electrical Technician (or equivalent)
* Diploma/Certificate from a relevant technical institution
* Current relevant electrical certification/tickets
* BASIC or Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
* High Voltage/Low Voltage experience preferred
