The Board of Imams Victoria (BOIV), established in 1984, is renowned for being Australia's first Imams board. Founded by Sheikh Fehmi Naji Imam, Sheikh Rexhep Idrizi, and three other Imams, BOIV continues to play a central role in fostering and supporting the religious life of the Muslim community in Victoria. With a membership of approximately 27 Imams, the organization provides spiritual guidance and serves as a cornerstone of faith for many in the region. BOIV is committed to upholding Islamic teachings and ensuring the well‐being of the Muslim community.
Role Description
This is a part‐time, on‐site role (2 days a week) for a Project Intern based in Thomastown, VIC. The intern will assist with the planning and execution of community‐focused projects and initiatives. Responsibilities include conducting research, preparing project documentation, communicating with stakeholders, supporting event coordination, and contributing to administrative tasks. This role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience and work closely with leaders in the community to support important initiatives.
Qualifications
* Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Research, analytical, and data management capabilities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
* A genuine interest in working with the community and understanding multicultural environments
* Attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
* Experience in project management or community programs is a plus
* Relevant tertiary education or current enrollment in a related field such as Community Development, Digital Design, Project Management, or Administration is an advantage.
