Summary:
The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting, taxation compliance, and general accounting functions. Working under the supervision of a senior accountant or manager, this role provides hands-on experience across a variety of industries and clients, including exposure to Australian tax legislation, ATO requirements, and industry-specific compliance.
Responsibilities:
* Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries
* Prepare financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
* Assist with budget preparation and forecasting
* Reconcile bank statements and other financial records
* Assist with audits and tax filings
* Provide support to senior accounting staff as needed
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
* 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance
* Working towards CA or CPA qualification.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Xero, MYOB and similar)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
