About The Role
An opportunity exists for a Meter Reader to service the Goulburn Valley area. This is a casual role, offering 14 days over a 3-month period. Here at NPS, we pride ourselves on providing a professional team with our goal to exceed customer expectations consistently.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Accurately read water meters and record results using a Goulburn Valley Water–provided handheld device.
* Follow allocated daily routes on foot and complete assigned meter reads within required timeframes.
* Ensure all readings are correctly entered, validated, and uploaded in accordance with contract requirements.
* Identify and report inaccessible, damaged, faulty, or obstructed meters in line with procedures.
* Follow all safety requirements, including use of provided PPE and managing environmental risks such as pets, traffic, uneven ground, and weather conditions.
* Represent NPS professionally when interacting with customers and members of the public, responding politely to basic inquiries related to meter reading activities.
* Walk long distances for extended periods, including bending, crouching, and squatting as required to access meters.
* Demonstrate basic proficiency in using handheld electronic devices.
* Work independently, manage time effectively, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
About You
Previous field-based work experience is desirable but not essential
* Hold a current driver's licence
* Must have a reliable, registered motor vehicle to travel
* Construction Induction (white/red) card
* Police Check and Working with Children's Check (or able to obtain one)
* First Aid & CPR
* Pride in your work and an aptitude for problem solving.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
