Fleet & Inventory Controller
Job Summary:
This role involves working alongside the Department of Defence at our head office in Mulgrave, Victoria. You will be part of a high-performing Customer Services team, responsible for supporting daily inventory transactions and routines for our Military G-Wagon Fleet.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Fleet & Inventory Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure tasks are completed timely and effectively, and assist the National Fleet Manager with reviews, plans, budgets, and deliverables.
Responsibilities:
* Perform routine tasks related to materiel logistics, inventory control, and asset management in accordance with Defence requirements.
* Interpret and apply relevant Defence policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance in inventory and asset management activities.
* Review procurement and requirements reports (weekly, monthly, yearly) and raise replenishment or procurement requests as needed.
* Monitor and act on outstanding tasks from the Business Process Monitoring (BPM) list to maintain workflow efficiency.
* Prepare and submit procurement proposals for inventory top-ups, fleet modifications, and related projects.
* Collaborate with technical teams to support the codification of new items into the NATO Master Catalogue of References for Logistics (NMCRL).
* Assess and include new items in the MILIS catalogue in collaboration with technical teams.
* Identify opportunities for on-the-job training within the fleet management team and prepare Disposal Directives for submission and approval.
Requirements:
* At least two years of inventory management experience is desirable.
* A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
* Strong interpersonal and planning skills.
* Highly developed analytical skills.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines.
* Leadership skills to guide a team at all levels for effective collaboration and decision-making.
