Medical Ward 2 is a 35-bed acute medical ward within the Medical Services Group at Townsville University Hospital.
The unit cares for diverse patients across General Medicine, Rheumatology and Endocrinology, delivering evidence-based, person-centred care in a fast-paced environment.

Competitive salary and benefits

About your opportunity
As a Clinical Nurse (NG6-1) in Medical Ward 2, you will provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and education to optimise patient outcomes.
You will coordinate complex care, model effective communication and problem solving, and drive quality and safety initiatives.
Working autonomously and with the Nurse Unit Manager, you will support shift coordination, mentor staff, and contribute to portfolio leadership and research activities.
Requirements
Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration.
Evidence of vaccination and immunity for VPDs (e.g., Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Pertussis) and TB risk assessment as per Queensland Health policy.
Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
