This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role in our Planning Services team.
About the Position
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced people leader to lead our Planning Services teams, including Planning Administration Officers, Planning Officers, Senior Planning Officers, Planning Compliance Officers, and Planning Coordinators.
* The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all decisions and advice to stakeholders within their designated area of responsibility is lawful, accurate, and accountable.
* They will coordinate the preparation of agenda items and statutory decisions within their designated area of responsibility.
* The ideal candidate will ensure that relevant statutory obligations are met, and statutory processes and responsibilities within the unit are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this position include:
* Ensuring the appropriate maintenance of records associated with research, inspections, reports, and correspondence associated with the planning functions of the Business Unit.
* Supervising and managing designated employees operationally.
* Performing Statutory Planning assessments and functions in a timely manner in accordance with the customer service charter.
* Attending, presenting, providing support, and representing the team at meetings, including Committee and Council, Development Assessment Panel, Statutory Planning Committee, and any other meetings as required.
The successful candidate will also assist the Manager with overall business operations, including budget preparation, business planning, recruitment, and identifying and implementing business process improvements.

This is a Level 9A Inside Workforce Agreement position, with a salary from $144,125.56 gross per annum plus superannuation.
