**Job description**:
Our client are seeking experienced Payroll Officers for two positions in ther Osborne Park office.
Positions available: Payroll Officer and Specialist Payroll Officer
Duration: 3-6-month contract with possible extension
Location: Osbourne Park, WA
Type: Temporary casual contract (NO LEAVE ENTITLEMENTS)
System used by client: Preceda
** Payroll Officer**
- Ensure the accurate processing of two fortnightly pay runs
- Provide both regular and ad-hoc reporting as required
- Process variations to pays, salaries and other associated employee conditions and benefits including the payment of superannuation and other legislative and Award based payments
- Provide a high level of customer service in relation to employee or manager queries relating to payroll or employment conditions
- Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and improvement to payroll related systems
**KEY COMPETENCIES**
**Technical Competencies**
- Previous experience with computerised payroll systems and knowledge of rostering and timekeeping legislation
- Experience in the processing of payroll and associated records including superannuation and relevant taxation legislation
- Demonstrated knowledge of workers compensation claims process
- Experience in dealing with confidential personnel and / or business records
- Substantial knowledge of HR and Payroll practices
- Sound knowledge and understanding of operations of an HRMIS system
- Knowledge of superannuation, payroll taxation rules and salary packaging arrangements
- Demonstrated capacity to contribute effectively as part of a team, and to work autonomously

The Specialist Payroll Officer position will have the same criteria, as well as needing experience in the following areas:
- Leave audits - Long service leave strengt
- Award interpretation - multiple awards
- Backpay calculations
- Super reconciliations
- Ability to read and interpret contracts.
- Meeting tight deadlines and prioritisation
- Medium to high excel skills.
