George's Gourmet Meats in Cleveland is looking for a motivated and reliable Apprentice Butcher to join our award-winning team. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn traditional and modern butchery skills from experienced professionals in a supportive, friendly environment. Junior, school-based and adults are all encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be 15+ years of age to be eligible for this apprentice position.
About the Role
As an Apprentice Butcher, you will:
Learn all aspects of the butchery trade, including breaking down carcasses, portioning, trimming, and value-adding
Assist with preparation of gourmet products
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation
Deliver excellent customer service
Work as part of a passionate, hardworking team (and have some fun along the way)
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are required for this position.
Enthusiastic and eager to learn
Punctual, trustworthy, and able to follow instructions
Passionate about food and quality craftsmanship
Physically capable of hands-on work
Able to work some weekends as required
Candidates must be available to work every weekend as required.
No experience is necessary — just the right attitude and a genuine interest in the trade.
