Location: Stuart, QLD About the role: Reporting to the Regional Operations Leader, this role is responsible for coordinating train crew and yard operations to ensure productive and cost-effective deployment of resources to ensure a high level of customer service is established and maintained. You will: As a valued member of the Aurizon Townsville Depot, you will oversee the daily movements of rollingstock, ensuring all planned activities are executed on time as well as managing day of operations changes to meet all planned train service and maintenance activity timeframes. You will also be required to: Direct and manage the allocation, utilisation, and deployment of production resources to ensure the disciplined execution of the yard plan. Develop, implement, and manage processes, systems and procedures that will eliminate above rail factors within the cycle which impact on supply chain performance and the attainment of the daily schedule. Develop and maintain the knowledge, skills and attributes of self and the team and ensure the team has clear, current, and measurable goals and objectives aligned to the plan and business targets. Provide advice, coaching and support to direct operational employees that assists in achieving performance objectives, promote high performance teams and support continuous improvement activities. Ensure that all business activities and employees within the position's area of control comply with all legislative/statutory obligations, company policies, standards, and procedures. About you: Train Driving and/or Shunt Qualified (Mandatory) Certificate IV/Diploma Frontline Management or equivalent (Preferred). Previous line leadership experience in large scale logistics or heavy industrial organisation (Preferred). Previous experience in Yard operations (Preferred). Specific skills: Demonstrated skills to effectively lead teams in a day of operations environment. Substantial level of analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills. High level of communication skills in providing clear and succinct verbal and written information. Demonstrated ability in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
