About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and people‑focused HR Officer to support the development and delivery of core HR functions across the MLEI group. This role is central to enhancing employee experience, embedding our values, and driving efficient and effective processes that enable our growing national team to thrive.
Working closely with leaders and team members, this position will ensure our workplaces remain supportive, collaborative, and aligned with MLEI goals. The successful candidate will contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of MLEI's People framework, supporting leadership and team members with key initiatives and processes that attract, develop and retain high‑performing, values‑driven professionals.
This is a dynamic opportunity for an experienced HR professional eager to grow within a supportive, expanding consultancy. This position can be full time or part time and while based in Adelaide is preferred, we are open to flexible locations for the right candidate.
Key Result Areas
* With People & HR team, grow MLEI's people function and framework, contribute to strengthen and elevate priorities
* Collaborate and coordinate with Head of Corporate Services, P&C Officer, HR Administrator, Office Managers to provide consistency and flexibility to Directors, Managers and Team Members across the MLEI group
* Exceptional commitment to MLEI's purpose, vision and values, demonstrated daily
* Deliver effective employee lifecycle processes across MLEI group, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
* Drive effective recruitment process, shortlisting, phone screening, interview, reference checks with outstanding candidate care throughout, consulting and collaborating with hiring managers
* Collaborate with HR Administrator for effective compliance functions and records
* Provide advice and insights to Head of Corporate Services, Directors and Managers on strategy and policy approach for People / HR function at MLEI
* Coordinate and collaborate with team to ensure People functions work within and support with QMS / IMS
* Conduct research and analysis on initiatives, solutions and pathways to support key responsibility areas
* Contribute to routine and ad‑hoc reporting
* Contribute to development and communication of MLEI's EVP and Employer Brand (with other key team members)

You Will Bring
* Understanding of consulting engineering business and people priorities
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field (or progressing towards)
* Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Exceptional communication (written and verbal)
* Strong understanding of Modern Awards, Fair Work Act and HR best practices
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Experience using Seek, LinkedIn Recruiter and an HRIS
