Science education support specialist

Job Description:

School officers play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of educational institutions. They provide high-level administrative support to teaching staff and contribute to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.


Key Responsibilities:

* Practical Experiments Preparation: Prepare, set up and pack down practical experiments for Science classes (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and STEM), providing hands-on support to teachers and students during lessons.
* Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain clean, safe and well-organized laboratories and prep rooms, including chemical storage and equipment stock levels.
* Chemical Solutions Preparation: Prepare chemical solutions, following safe chemical handling and waste disposal procedures, and keep relevant WHS documentation (SDSs and risk assessments) up to date.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additionally, they should hold a Certificate in Science or a related field and be eligible to work in Australia.
