Mendi Constructions is seeking a motivated Boilermaker Fabricator Apprentice to join our workshop team in Townsville. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career working on heavy plant and equipment within a large civil construction business.
As a Boilermaker Fabricator Apprentice, you'll work under the guidance of experienced tradespeople, learning to maintain and repair our fleet of earthmoving equipment, crushing plant, and heavy vehicles while developing practical, hands-on skills in a supportive environment.
Your Responsibilities:
Assist with:
* Fabrication of plant components, machinery and structural steel
* Welding, repairs and maintenance of machinery and fixed plant
* Arc-air gouging of major components
* Flux-core welding repairs on mobile equipment
* Refurbishing and rebuilding loader and excavator buckets, truck trays, and excavator booms and sticks
You will also:
* Learn to carry out tasks to a high standard in line with workshop procedures
* Follow company policies, procedures and safe work practices
* Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment
* Actively participate in training and on-the-job learning
About You:
* Genuine interest in pursuing a career as a Boilermaker Fabricator
* Willingness to learn and take direction from qualified tradespeople
* Strong work ethic and a reliable, positive attitude
* Commitment to workplace health and safety
* Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
* Provisional driver's licence required
