The brand new 6star Palm Lake Resort in Pelican Waters has opened, and we are expanding our grounds maintenance team.
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Grounds keeper with a very good eye for finer details and high end finishes.
This role offers a Monday to Friday 38hour week roster where you will work both independently and with a close-knit team. As a grounds person, you will play an integral role to ensure the presentation of the resort grounds is kept to a high standard all year-round maintaining set standards with weeding and watering common areas, hedge trimming, mowing & whipper snipping, planting, mulching and maintaining flowers and shrubs.
Maintaining the outside presentation of the overall facilities within the resort including pool maintenance and rubbish valet service will be required. Sound knowledge of indoor/outdoor plants is highly desirable.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Mowing, edging and whipper snipping;
- Planting and maintenance of flowers and shrubs, including preparation of soils, trimming trees, plants and bushes, control weeds and pests through the application of herbicides;
- Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of dying vegetation;
- Maintain excellent presentation of common grounds, including watering and maintenance of irrigation systems;
- Ensure all garden areas are kept neat, tidy and free of rubbish;
- Vacuuming/blowing, high pressure cleaning of buildings, car parks, roadways and steps;
- Keeping outdoor areas, shared zones, furniture and BBQ clean;
- Ensure all mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order, and report any details of breakdowns, losses or problems to management immediately.
Ideally You Will Have:
- Relevant gardening experience in a similar role;
- Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is advantageous;
- Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower;
- Possess the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying;
- Motivated, enthusiastic and can work with limited supervision;
- ADCD chemical licence is advantageous.
