**Chief Officer Role Overview:**
The Chief Officer is the head of the Deck Department, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient planning of cargo and ballast handling operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Designated safety officer
* Safe and efficient planning of cargo and ballast handling operations
* Providing guidance and support to Deck Officers including Deck Cadets
* Comprehensive knowledge of all maintenance and repair needs of the deck and throughout the accommodation
* Assuming Masters responsibilities and command of the vessel in the absence of the Master
Requirements:
* AMSA Chief Officer COC/COR Unlimited
* Minimum 5 years sea time as a Watchkeeper Deck
* STCW regulation II/2 MSIC Card
* Australian Citizen or hold a valid Australian working visa without working restrictions
* Living in an Australian state
* Be able to wear a respirator while on deck
