**The Opportunity**:

- The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a PSL 4/5 Broadcasting AV Operator within Digital Recording Services Branch. Parliamentary Broadcasting provides a range of broadcasting services (television, audio and AV) to the Australian Parliament.

**Job Specific Requirements**:

- Parliamentary Broadcasting operations officers must be willing and able to work long and irregular hours when required in support of the Parliament and its committees
- Parliamentary Broadcasting operations officers must be willing and able to work interstate in a solo capacity providing critical services to parliamentary committees
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

**Immediate supervisor**:Assistant Director, Parliamentary Broadcasting
- Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the PSL 4/5 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- 1. Operate a range of television, audio and audio-visual (AV) facilities to support the proceedings of the Parliament.
- 2. Within established guidelines, provide televised and audio coverage of proceedings of chambers and committees (including interstate committees).
- 3. Develop a working knowledge of the range of services offered by the team and the session, as well as technique and approaches to support high quality customer service.
- 4. Provide support and/or relief to members of the team during periods of peak operational activities.
- 5. Undertake other duties as required to support the section.
- Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice._

**Selection Criteria**:

- 1. Ability to set up and operate, to the designated standard, a range of audio, projection, lighting and broadcast equipment in a live environment.
- 2. Knowledge of, and experience in, relevant video conferencing, streaming and live audio-visual production techniques.
- 3. Proven experience in a customer support role (customer service skills), combined with communication and interpersonal skills.
- 4. Capacity and willingness to suggest better ways of performing tasks.
- 5. Strong approach to, and focus on teamwork, with the capacity to operate effectively in an environment of fluctuating workloads and evolving priorities..

**Salary**:

- Currently, the salary range for this position is $72,553 - $86,270 per annum.
