We are seeking an experienced Independent Director to oversee our organization and ensure informed decisions are made about its affairs.
This role involves guiding the corporation on behalf of its members, ensuring decisions are well-informed and supervising its operations.
Main Responsibilities
 * Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the corporation, ensuring sound decision-making and effective management.
 * Governance: Exercise all functions and powers of the corporation, except where otherwise specified by law.
 * Financial Management: Safeguard the financial stability of the corporation, ensuring its solvency and not compromising its fiscal responsibility.
Qualifications and Experience
 * A degree and/or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field, or recognised qualification or work experience in lieu of experience.
 * A minimum 3 years' experience as a Director of an Australian company, governed by the Corporations Act 2001 or the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006.
 * Experience with legal compliance and governance, including legal, ethical and fiduciary responsibilities.
