This role offers an exciting opportunity for a talented Illustrator to bring bold ideas and original artwork to life across textiles, and custom printed garments.
Based in Perth, The Fabric Printer is a creative print shop specialising in screen printing, digital printing, and embroidery. We're an independently owned and operated printers that started in Perth 30 years ago, going from strength to strength and printing some of your favourite garments along the way.
We're looking for an illustrator who thrives on creativity and collaboration, with a strong sense of colour, composition, and storytelling through design. You'll help shape prints and patterns that capture imagination and enhance a diverse range of merchandise, uniform, personal gifts and so much more.
You'll be working with pre-existing brand assets, customer provided visuals, or client developed briefs to create either smart and thoughtful designs, or fun and striking prints worth wearing forever.
Responsibilities
Create original illustrations and designs for garment printing.
Translate client concepts into visually compelling, print-ready artwork.
Work closely with our screen printing, digital printing, and embroidery departments to ensure colour accuracy, consistency and a fully realised design.
Collaborate with designers and clients to refine artwork based on feedback and project goals.
Deliver high-quality artwork files that meet creative and technical production standards.
Contribute creative ideas to new collections, seasonal trends, and client briefs.
Maintain organised artwork files and assist with print preparation when required.
Help keep on top of in-house design needs like social media posts and printed collateral.
Skills and Requirements
A bachelor's degree in illustration, visual communication, or graphic design.
1+ years of professional experience as an Illustrator or Graphic Designer (preferably in print production).
Strong illustrative skills with an eye for pattern, texture, and colour balance.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Understanding of screen printing and digital printing processes.
Experience with CRM systems or client management tools preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, positive approach to teamwork.
