About the role

The focus of this role is to assist with the day-to-day operations of our support work programs. As a leader at Support Studio, you will work alongside our support work teams, to ensure the provision of high quality supports, to people living with mental health and disability.

This involves overseeing and guiding the work of a small team of support workers. This position also plays an integral role in overseeing the delivery of services to participants, ensuring that a high standard of support is provided at all times. Our Lead Support Worker also play a critical role in cultivating a positive workplace culture.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential:

* Current Driver’s License and appropriate car insurance

* Working with Children’s Check (Employee)

* Rights to work in Australia

* Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR)

* NDIS Worker Screening Check

* Supporting people to stay infection free certificate

* Satisfactory completion of:

* New Worker NDIS Induction Module

* NDIS Worker Orientation Module

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Desirable:

* Qualifications in mental health, disability, community services or a relevant qualification.

* Experience leading diverse teams of people.

* Experience providing secondary consultation, supervision, debriefing, and reflective practice to staff.

* Experience conducting risk assessments and providing direction to staff in a crisis.

* Experience leading teams working with people living with mental health and or disability.

* A good understanding of the NDIS and existing relationships with key stake holders working across our operating areas.

* Knowledge of the Disability Act 2006 and other relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.

* High level administrative skills
