About the company
Our client is a long standing, family-owned distributor and wholesaler in the outdoor leisure space. With more than three decades in the Australian market, they design, source and supply a wide mix of products including BBQs, outdoor kitchens, heaters, camping gear, generators and related accessories. Their ranges are sold through major national retailers and specialist stores, supported by a value led culture and a commitment to practical innovation and strong customer partnerships.
About the role
The State Territory Manager for Victoria and South Australia will oversee a mix of major chains and independent specialist retailers. You'll work with customers such as Bunnings, Supercheap Auto, BCF, Anaconda, Harvey Norman and BBQs Galore, along with franchise groups and owner operated stores that rely on strong relationship management. While call cycles and routes already exist, the company wants someone who can look at the data, challenge historic patterns in a respectful way and refine the approach to lift performance. You'll be supported by Sales Managers, General Managers and the merchandising and replenishment teams, and will spend time in the Melbourne head office for product briefings, training and broader team engagement. The role suits someone who enjoys autonomy and takes ownership of their territory.
Skills & expertise required
The business is looking for someone grounded in solid account management practice who brings confidence, curiosity and a customer centred approach. You'll need to be proactive, able to spot commercial opportunities and comfortable managing both new business and an existing portfolio. Experience in similar retail channels is highly regarded. Strong relationship building skills are essential, particularly when dealing with independents and franchise networks where influence and trust matter. You'll be working across a broad product set, so commercial thinking, the ability to position value and a practical approach to growth planning will help you succeed.
