**About the role**
The Health Information Manager / Clinical Coder role involves accurate clinical coding of inpatient episodes whilst achieving a set throughput quota. The Level 2 coder position also requires participation in audit and quality activities to in order to optimise casemix funding.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Accurately code inpatient episodes in accordance with Australian Coding Standards
- Meet standards of coding accuracy and volume relative to experience
- Participate in coding audit, quality and education activities relative to experience.
**The Opportunity**
Our fantastic coding team is comprised of both HIMs and Clinical Coders who work in an environment where coding, casemix and clinical documentation initiatives are strongly supported by Grampians Health Executive and Clinical Directors. You will be supported by the Coding Leadership Team to further develop your coding skills. Professional development is encouraged and career progression opportunities are available. Grampians Health has a Digital Medical Record which allows for development and innovation in coding practices and work arrangement flexibility.
**Key Selection Criteria**
**_ Mandatory_**
- Health Information Manager or Clinical Coder qualification (HIMAA or similar)
- Level 2 Coder - 3 years recent clinical coding experience including at higher complexity level (ICU)
- Level 1 Coder - independent coder at lower level casemix
- Knowledge of Victorian Casemix funding model
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge and experience with Digital Medical Records
