Work in one of Darwin's most stunning locations, maintaining pristine landscapes, lush green spaces, and vibrant gardens for visitors to enjoy.Responsibilities include:Understanding and complying with quality, safety, health, and environmental policies.Taking personal responsibility to protect the health and safety of people and the environment.Mowing lawns, edging with hand and ride-on mowers (front deck & track), and using a whipper snipper.Removing litter from garden beds and driveways.Trimming shrubs and plants, removing dead branches and leaves.Checking irrigation system functionality and reporting faults or issues with watering.Applying fertiliser as per instructions.Using spraying equipment such as backpack sprayers, knapsack sprayers, and motorised sprayers to control weeds, pests, and insects.Carrying out tasks in a manner that minimizes inconvenience to customers, staff, and the public.Operating equipment and machinery according to manufacturer’s recommendations and company procedures.Performing routine maintenance on gardening tools and equipment.Assisting in on-the-job training.Inspecting products and materials for compliance with standards.Following written instructions, verbal directions, and procedures to perform work.Skills and Experiences:SELECTION CRITERIA:ESSENTIALS:Trade qualified with a Certificate III in Horticulture (Floriculture) from a recognised RTO; orAt least three years’ practical horticulture experience demonstrating relevant skills and knowledge.Proven ability in the maintenance and design of irrigation systems (Certified Irrigation Designer/Tradesperson).Ability to perform key responsibilities effectively.Class C Driver’s Licence (manual).Good interpersonal and communication skills.Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.A positive National Police Security Check.DESIRABLE:First Aid Certificate.Chainsaw Operator Certificate.Construction Induction (White Card).Working with Children (Ochre Card).
