The atmosphere is one of camaraderie and collaboration, where everyone's skills and expertise are valued and appreciated.The OpportunityWe have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Boiler Maker to join the team at Recar Townsville.You will learn the craft of fabricating, repairing, and maintaining metal structures and equipment, including truck trailers, trucks, buses, and other heavy-duty vehicles.Your primary responsibilities will include welding, cutting, grinding, and shaping metal parts, interpreting technical drawings and specifications, and following safety procedures and guidelines. You will work closely with other members of the repair team to ensure that all work is completed on time and to a high standard.Role responsibilitiesAs an Apprentice Boiler Maker at Recar Townsville, you will learn to:Assist in welding, cutting, grinding, and shaping of metal parts.Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.Follow safety procedures and guidelines.Maintain a clean and safe work area.Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.Reassemble vehicles.Carry out minor and small repairs as required.Join metal sections and structures together using welding, bolting or riveting methods.Complete products by washing, cleaning, chiselling, grinding and filing.Notate broken parts/extra repairs and submit to Estimator when required.Ensure authorisation before proceeding with additional work.Double check new parts are correct and not damaged.You will be required to:Follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate PPE is worn at all times.Handle all company tools and equipment with due care and attention ensuring they remain safe, clean and in a workable condition.Complete all course theory work by the due date as required.Does this sound like you?Genuine interest in the Automotive industry.Good attitude and willingness to learn.Reliable with good attention to detail.Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.BenefitsReward & recognition.Career development and training.Referral bonus for recommending a friend to work with us.Uniforms.24/7 professional counselling for Team members and their immediate families.AMA Group is an equal opportunity employer.
