Job Opportunity: Elementary Extended Resource Room Special Education Teacher
The ideal candidate will possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate and Certification in one or more areas of Special Education, preferably CI endorsed.
1. Collaborate with general education staff to accommodate elementary curriculum for students with disabilities.
2. Utilize structured teaching methods, visual supports, behavior supports, and assistive technologies as appropriate.
3. Create a structured, safe, and predictable classroom environment that supports sensory, behavioral, and academic needs.
4. Oversee Para Educator schedules and tasks.
5. Facilitate multidisciplinary evaluation team meetings and perform case management duties.
6. Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction.
7. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district requirements.
8. Establish and maintain parent/school communication protocols.
* Key Responsibilities Include:
* Providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
* Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
* Collaborating with colleagues to create a comprehensive support system for students.
Requirements
Qualified applicants will have:
* A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
* Certification in one or more areas of Special Education.
* Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
