Join a small, friendly conveyancing team and make a real impact
We're a boutique conveyancing firm looking for a motivated Legal Assistant to help keep our office and files running smoothly. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with our conveyancer, learn the ins and outs of property law in both NSW and VIC, and play a key part in delivering excellent service to our clients.
As a Legal Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Conveyancer, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to develop your skills in a thriving legal environment.
What you'll do
1. Support our conveyancer in managing files from start to finish, including conducting title searches, certificate ordering, and preparing settlement documents.
2. Communicate with clients, colleagues, and other professionals with professionalism and care.
3. Draft correspondence, notices, and other legal documents accurately and efficiently.
4. Work within PEXA to lodge documents electronically, prepare settlement figures, and liaise with banks, solicitors, and clients.
5. Assist with property settlements, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
6. Maintain accurate and organised client files.
7. Perform general administrative tasks to keep the office running smoothly, including scheduling, and client follow-ups.
8. Proactively identify ways to improve office processes and client experience.
Who we are looking for
1. Someone organised, detail-oriented, and proactive.
2. LEAP experience is not essential but preferred.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
5. Prior experience in conveyancing or property law is preferred, but not essential.
6. Experience with PEXA or property settlements is a plus.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
8. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks
9. A demonstrated interest in the legal field and a willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures
