As a Communications Officer, you will develop and execute effective communication strategies that promote Council’s services, projects, and events. Your work will help enhance community understanding and strengthen Council’s reputation. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement communications plans for Council initiatives Produce high-quality content for various channels, including websites, media releases, posters, flyers, and magazine articles Write speeches and contribute to Council’s quarterly magazine Manage weekly email newsletters using Campaign Monitor Upload content to the Squiz CMS platform Oversee outdoor advertising, including street banners and bus shelter campaigns Support media inquiries and coordinate photo shoots Assist with social media content creation and publishing Ideal Candidate Profile: Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, journalism, marketing, or a related field Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills Experience developing and implementing communications strategies Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content Proficiency in digital tools such as Campaign Monitor, Squiz CMS, and basic Photoshop (desirable) Strong planning and organizational capabilities Digital literacy across relevant software and online platforms Flexibility to attend meetings and events outside standard hours Current driver’s license Apply for immediate consideration.
