This Assistant Manager Shift Operations role is responsible for the efficient delivery of Payment Delivery, on a rotational shift arrangement, including NPP 24x7 and Direct Entry and collection services for government agencies and electronic file monitoring across a number of Bank systems. Objectives Ensure the efficient delivery of Payment Delivery including NPP 24x7 and Direct Entry and collection services for government agencies and other customers. Monitor the transmission of electronic files and ensure that all processing is completed satisfactorily. Supervise the day/evening/night shifts and ensure that the duties are completed as required. Ensure all suspense and clearing accounts are reconciled daily and any differences followed up immediately. Ensure the timely resolution of all production system disruptions, issues or incidents to maintain high levels of system availability. Ensure that all stakeholders are kept informed of status and that appropriate incident management procedures are in place and action items are completed satisfactorily. Ensure the section has appropriate escalation processes and that they are strictly adhered to. Liaise with peers in other organisations to resolve any problems. Ensure appropriate enquiry and tracing services are available for customers and financial institutions. Assist with the development and maintenance of procedures for the section's areas of responsibility, including user manuals and job guides. Technical Capabilities Ability to make decisions about the team’s work output and operational matters on the day. Ability to supervise and guide the work of others. Experience in managing operational aspects of business system changes (including planning, specifying, testing and documenting) and co-ordinating the response to incidents affecting critical systems. Demonstrated ability to contribute to improving business processes and increasing efficiency and effectiveness. Experience in the development of detailed support procedures, user guides and other operational procedures. Extensive experience resolving problems within service levels, identifying improvement opportunities to remediate problems. Advanced knowledge in payment system technologies or banking systems and technologies Advanced experience in transactional processing and working with procedures. Management of process and procedure life cycles in alignment with risk management requirements and principles. Extensive experience working in a critical operational environment involving deadlines. Advanced knowledge of customer support principles, monitoring and administrative requirements and experience in a customer service or help desk environment. Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or relevant working experience.
