This role ensure the accurate and timely collection, preparation and reporting on all dealership transactions. In preforming this role, you must always act with integrity and transparency, representing the Autosports Group values: Strive for Excellence, Care, Leading Change & Village
The role also involves reporting on results and providing critical analysis on business performance, trends and areas for improvement.
Major responsibilities of the role include:
- Manage a team of accountants
- Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations
- Preparation and analysis of monthly management reports, accurately and on a timely basis as per Autosports Group timetable.
- Analysis of financial data in comparison to budgets and forecast.
- Partnering with operation managers to ensure accurate reporting
- Assist in reviewing departmental expenditure and introducing cost saving measures
- Ensure compliance with the dealership’s obligations to the relevant OEM brand, Autosports Group head office and authorities
- Preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Preparation and timely lodgement of BAS and FBT.
- Assist in the preparation of financial for half and year end reporting requirement and managing audit queries
- Any other ad-hoc duties
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, CA or CPA qualified
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a financial controller
- Advanced computer skills with MS Excel, Office, accounting software and databases
- Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving ability, analytical skills and the ability to manage competing issues and work to tight deadlines
- Solid communication skills
- Thrive in a team-based environment and being a self-starter who can work independently with initiative.
- Pentana experience preferred
- Understanding of the typical business structures of the retail automotive industry an advantage
