Southern Steel QLD is Queensland's leading steel supplier and steel processing company, operating across 5 locations in the state.
We're looking for somebody with the right attitude, who can handle a busy, fast paced environment with ease in this exciting opportunity as a Storeperson on located in our Cairns branch.
Responsibilities include:
* Warehousing and distribution of steel products using overhead cranes/forklifts;
* Picking & packing orders, unloading, loading and stacking materials;
* Operating a band saw machine, when required;
* General warehouse duties;
* Following the correct safety procedures at all times.
Someone who is a team player, reliable, and enjoys a fast-paced environment will be perfectly suited to this role.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Previous experience in a similar role or general knowledge of warehouse operations.
* MR Truck licence desirable
* Forklift licence, or ability to obtain
* Crane licence or experience driving overhead bridge gantry cranes (preferred but not essential)
* Be physically fit to carry out heavy duties in a high intensity work environment
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of team
