Pro-Asset Painting Maintenance is a growing painting maintenance business servicing strata, education institutions, public services and commercial clients in and around Sydney.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic full time Painter and Decorator to join our team. If you have proven trade skills, and the drive to go forward, this is the job for you. Your ability to work both independently and also in a team will put you in good stead for this challenging position.
Role:
Specific Tasks and duties of the position will include;
* Erecting scaffolding and ladders and placing drop sheets to protect adjacent areas from paint splattering
* Working with/from boom lift / swinging stage and ladders.
* Preparing surfaces by removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks and smoothing sealing surfaces
* Selecting and preparing paints to required colors by mixing portions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying additives
* Applying paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers and sprays
* Hanging wallpaper, matching patterns and trimming edges
* Cleaning equipment and work areas
* The role is open to Australian citizens or permanent residents
* Ability to obtain Working with Children Check and National Police Check when required for specific sites
Responsibilities
* Representing Pro-Asset on site, liaising with client's onsite if the supervisor is away.
* Attending Tool box talks and acknowledging project WHS requirements
* Support other team members to ensure completion of projects on time and according to specifications
* Daily reporting to supervisor
* Attending all necessary training courses as requested
* Understand and comply with industry safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Skills and Requirements:
* Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent recognised trade qualification)
* Minimum 2 years painting experience
* Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence for boom-type EWP and Working at Heights licence (RIIWHS204E) ideal
* Working at Heights Certificate a necessity.
* Current White Card (Construction Induction Training) required
* Valid Australian driver's licence (Class C minimum) and reliable vehicle for site travel

* Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks under a variety of conditions
* Ability to work occasional weekends and overtime
* Ability to travel across Sydney and occasionally regional for work
* Ability to work in all weather and temperature conditions
* Well versed in maintenance, cleaning and debris removal tasks
* Demonstrated ability to work in outdoor conditions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $73,000.00 – $77,000.00 per year
