About Us

Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.

About the Opportunity

The Outreach Wellbeing Programs Manager role is to manage and oversee programs and services delivered by the Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Outreach Services Team to ensure they are delivered in an effective, efficient and accountable manner, providing high quality, client focused care. The Manager will ensure that outreach service deliverables are met in accordance with the Apunipima Model of Care and wellbeing needs of Cape York communities.

Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community

About You

We are seeking applicants who have:

* Demonstrated management experience of more than five (5) years working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary management group.
* Demonstrated experience leading and managing the planning, monitoring and review of social and emotional wellbeing programs and services.
* Demonstrated experience providing advice, guidance and support on complex social and emotional wellbeing cases, including risk assessments, support planning and case reviews.
* Experience providing services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, preferably in Cape York.
* Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York.
* Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs.
* Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community control.
* Must be willing and have the ability to travel in Cape York either by light aircraft or 4WD, as required.

Mandatory Requirements

* Qualification in Management, Health Management, Human Services or Behavioural Science.
* Current Queensland Drivers Licence.
* Blue Card (Working with Children Card) positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement.
* Australian Federal Police Check, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement.

Desirable

* Qualification in leadership or management.
* Experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO).
