Toolmaking Specialist
Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting production efficiency by manufacturing, maintaining, and repairing tooling and associated components to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and maintain tool room machinery as required for tool production and repair.
* Respond quickly and effectively to tooling breakdowns to minimize production disruption.
* Manufacture new tools and ancillary parts from technical drawings or by replicating existing components.
* Carry out repairs and modifications to a wide range of production tooling, including extrusion and moulding tools.
* Provide support to maintenance operations when needed.
* Troubleshoot tooling-related production issues and assist with breakdown recovery.
* Support Die and Calibrator cleaning operations when required.
Requirements
* Demonstrated experience in toolmaking or precision engineering.
* Proficient in operating and maintaining tool room machinery.
* Capable of interpreting and working from technical drawings.
* Familiarity with the repair and modification of extrusion and mould tools.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-led environment.
* Understanding of health and safety practices relevant to an engineering workshop.
