Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a Clinical Operations Manager that will oversee Miwatj primary health care (PHC) clinic operations including development and application of strategies, manage gaps and risks associated with planning, design of an organisation-wide staffing of Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHP), nursing and midwifery recruitment and retention pathways, coordinate the management functions of behalf of the PHC clinics reporting and maintenance of clinical governance standards, setting the operational direction and technical enablers.
This position will travel across the Miwatj footprint on a regular basis and may require you to stay a period in each community. This is a full-time, fixed term role until 30 June 2026.

Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
Ideal Candidate will have Current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or eligible for same and an understanding of community control and the issues affecting Yolngu people in East Arnhem Land, demonstrate advanced application and knowledge of contemporary AHP, nursing and midwifery practice and standards across a range of health services (preferably within a rural and remote setting); and ability to provide advanced level leadership, management and organisational skills including a high level of comprehensive analytical and problem-solving skills.

Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife Knowledge and experience working in the Aboriginal Community Controlled health sector Post graduate qualifications in a specialty area of clinical/midwifery or Primary health Care/ Management
