ABOUT THE POSITION
The position is for an operationally experienced Ventilation Occupational Health and Safety Officer/Practitioner/Technician/Adviser to join the BBE Australasia team, which is focused on hands-on, site-specific operational support services. We have exciting opportunities for experienced Senior Health and Safety Consultants – Mine Ventilation to join our growing consulting team in Perth. The role will allow the successful applicant to grow their experience in both hard rock and coal mine ventilation studies, including concept studies through to the detailed feasibility study design phases and performance testing. The role requires good communication skills, requiring interaction with clients on a daily basis.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Develop sustainable and regulatory compliant ventilation designs.
- Produce underground mine ventilation concepts, layouts, designs, trade-offs, scenario planning and execution plans.
- Construct life-of-mine ventilation network models and perform airflow, heat, contaminant, blast fume and radon simulations for different mining scenarios using industry standard ventilation network modelling software (Ventsim or VUMA).
- Identify hazards, assess and manage risks in the workplace to improve health and safety, reliability and performance of underground ventilation systems.
- Identify and select appropriate ventilation equipment including ventilation controls, ducting and scrubbing/filtration systems to ensure a healthy and safe environment.
- Provide advice and guidance regarding ventilation requirements to assist mines with meeting their statutory and health and safety obligations.
- Develop, implement and monitoring programs minimising workplace and environmental pollution involving chemical and physical hazards
- Implementing and reviewing environmental health management plans and occupational health and safety plans.
- Provide detailed CAPEX and OPEX estimates.
- Travel to site to conduct ventilation surveys site, inspecting and auditing workplaces, and on-site training.
- Support business development endeavours.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year
