Music Educator Position
We are seeking a skilled Music Educator to join our team and contribute to the development of our students' musical talents.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for music education and a proven track record of implementing best-practice curriculum. They will be responsible for leading or assisting in engaging music programs, coordinating performances, and nurturing the whole child physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.
This role offers a dynamic and supportive environment with strong support from families and colleagues. The successful applicant will have opportunities to contribute to co-curricular events and productions, as well as participate in staff development days and other activities.
The Music Educator will be expected to apply the Art and Science of Teaching (ASOT) by Robert Marzano and Essential Skills of Classroom Management (ESCM). They will also be responsible for maintaining all school records, assessing and recording student progress, and liaising with parents and staff.
In terms of qualifications, the ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor of Education or equivalent tertiary/teaching qualification. A Bachelor of Music or Music Education, or Arts with a specialisation in Music, would be highly desirable. Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) is essential, along with a current First Aid Certificate in an Education and Care environment. A CPR Certificate would also be required.
* Curriculum Implementation: Implement best-practice curriculum in your core teaching area using the Kodaly methodology
* Program Development: Develop, plan, implement and evaluate age-appropriate programmes for the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of the students
* Event Coordination: Coordinate music and singing events/groups/performances incorporated as part of the music programme (TAS Music ensembles and Ukelele Club)
* Record Keeping: Maintain all school records; assess, record and report on student progress
* Diversity and Inclusion: Be aware of special/additional needs, cultural, linguistic, religious, gender, language diversities and socio-economic differences and treat each child with dignity and respect
* Liaison and Communication: Liaise with and support parents and actively encourage parent involvement
* Staff Development: Participate in staff development days, Outdoor Education Programs, Year Level Information Evenings, Parent Teacher Interviews, Principal's Welcome Evenings, Excursions, Musical Productions and Co-curricular activities
