As a Senior Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of Linux platforms, ensuring high levels of availability, security, performance, and recoverability. You will work closely with infrastructure, cyber security, and application teams to deliver stable and secure services aligned with enterprise standards and governance frameworks. Key Responsibilities Linux Administration & Engineering Build, configure, patch, and upgrade enterprise Linux environments (RHEL/Oracle Linux preferred) Perform system health checks, performance tuning, and troubleshooting Lead platform lifecycle activities including migrations, upgrades, and refresh initiatives Security & Compliance Implement and maintain Linux security hardening standards Identify and remediate vulnerabilities across OS and configurations Support audit and compliance requirements through documentation and evidence Automation & Configuration Management Develop scripts using Bash and/or Python to automate operational tasks Manage job scheduling tools (e.g. Autosys or equivalent) Work with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet Storage, Backup & Recovery Manage Linux storage (mounts, multipathing, filesystem configuration) Support backup and recovery processes (e.g. Veeam or similar) Ensure systems are recoverable through testing and runbooks Support & Service Management Provide Level 3 support for incidents and problems Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative fixes Maintain monitoring and alerting integrations (e.g. Splunk or similar) Collaboration & Delivery Work across infrastructure, security, and application teams Execute changes following structured delivery and governance practices Produce clear documentation and communicate effectively with stakeholders Participate in an on-call roster for after-hours support and maintenance Key Skills & Experience Strong experience with enterprise Linux environments (RHEL/Oracle Linux) Proven expertise in security hardening and vulnerability remediation Solid scripting skills ( Bash, Python ) and automation mindset Experience with Autosys (or similar) and Ansible/Puppet Knowledge of storage, backup, and recovery solutions Experience working within ITSM frameworks (incident, problem, change) Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
